WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU DESIGN YOUR JEWELRY
-
First steps in
A welcoming layout that encourages you to interact with the jewelry on display. Our design staff are not on commission, so why should a counter separate us from getting to know your tastes? We are trained to guide you through education, not sales.
-
Digital Design Appointment
Watch us sketch on your screen! Are either of us wearing pants? We have spent countless hours building pricing equations that allow us to quote a custom project before any deposit is made. You will also see color, materials, durability, and whim possibilities here. For now, virtual is our appointment of choice. You can schedule your appointment here.

We Listen
Getting to know you is key to creating a custom piece of jewelry you'll love. We start with a few questions to understand your preferences, and often, casual conversation reveals more about your style. Sometimes, we even become friends! Knowing your preferences, like your sister has a square diamond, helps tailor the design to you. No square cuts, check. We got you.
-
Doodles To Sketches
We don't need a napkin doodle from last night's party, but it can kickstart the process. Once we hear your ideas, we start sketching on our screens together. You can watch your idea come to life and give feedback. Our designers are skilled at turning your thoughts into reality, ensuring they are feasible at every step.
-
Material Choices
We have several thousand loose gemstones in our collection available to show you immediately to assist in the direction of your project. We anticipate and keep examples of every stone you wish to incorporate into your jewelry. Rare, created, and natural gemstones and diamonds are shown over samples of every metal choice possible so you can make an informed decision regarding budget and taste.
-
Gemstone Choices
This is the most significant part of our free design sessions. Diamond and gemstone education. We want to present the industry facts in a non-biased, non-commissioned way. The 4 C’s and what they really equate to. We are working hard to get the best performance for your idea to distill hundreds of years of jewelry knowledge so you can make informed decisions.
-
Prototype Viewing
We use computer modeling to ensure your design meets our quality standards. A deposit may be required, and our designers will work on your idea behind the scenes. When you return, we'll show you a 3D print or wax model of your design, along with any unique diamonds or gemstones. You can make changes before we proceed. Your signature confirms we agree on the design before production begins.
-
Final Fitting
If we're completing a set, whether we made it or not, we'll need the engagement ring for a few days. During this time, we'll inspect it for any needed maintenance, like rhodium plating or soldering. We'll also hand fit the set to prevent wear and refinish your ring to ensure it looks its best for your big day.
-
Delivery
Like Gus over here seeing the design for the first time, we often schedule the delivery to ensure the designer is free to discuss how your design will fit into your life. We provide a detailed receipt for your insurance provider. We can also quote immediate coverage at any time through Jewelers Mutual. We give you packaging and aftercare instructions with our comprehensive warranty in an envelope.
-
Aftercare
We provide free ring sizing and cover labor for any unexpected issues that may arise as you wear your jewelry. Learn about our expanded coverage here.
After a few weeks, we'll check in to ensure everything is to your liking and share studio photos of your jewelry. For more information, check out our FAQ section.
